The 2012 Football NSW School Regional Futsal Championships is set to take place across five days of what will be futsal action at its best commencing Monday 6^th August at the Penrith Regional Valley Sports Stadium.

The Football NSW Schools Futsal Regional Championships is a unique opportunity for schools to participate in a competition against a variety of schools from State, Private, and Independent Schools across the state.

Competing in the Championships will consists of all winners and runners up from 13 Regional Championships who have been invited to compete in Penrith in a chance to be crowned Champions of their respective age groups.

It has been an incredible year for Futsal at Schools level as 1075 teams participated in the Regional Championships with 8,100 players playing the sport.

The Schools Regional Futsal Championships will have a number of age categories on show, from Primary (10 years) to Secondary (Opens) for both male and female participants.

Football NSW Futsal Manager Damian Briggs was delighted with the success of the Regional Championships and was expecting a decent showing in what is seen as one of the largest school based single sporting events in Australia.

“Football NSW is very proud of the reputation that has been created for the Futsal School Regional Championships. Over the years this event has become one of the largest school based single sport events in NSW and Australia.

“The 2012 Futsal School Regional will again be no different and Football NSW are looking at conducting an even better competition and we be looking forward to continuing these prestigious events.”

Following with the State Schools Championships theme, Friday 10^th August will also see the annual Athletes with Disabilities Futsal Schools Gala Day take place where 30 teams will compete against each other.

Monday 6^th August – Primary 10 Boys and Primary 12 Girls

Tuesday 7^th August – Primary 10 Girls and Primary 12 Boys

Wednesday 8^th August – 14 Boys and 14 Girls

Thursday 9^th August – 16 Boys and 16 Girls

Friday 10^th August – Athletes with Disabilities Futsal Schools Gala Day
