Australian Futsal Assoc. Nationals at full strength
Australian Futsal Association clarifies the differences in team numbers between their nationals and the FFA nationals
A few press releases have come out over the last week in regards to age groups and number of teams for the national futsal titles in January 2013.
These press releases which refer to the removal of a number of age groups, the limiting the number of entries to one from each state per age group, are not in reference to ours in Sydney but FFA’s in Canberra.
Please note that contrary to what you may have heard the following age groups will be competed for
Boys: 10 years,11 years, 12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15 years, 16 years, 20 years, Open Men
Girls: 12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15 years, 16 years, 20 years, Open Women
In all states we also have both city and country. And where players considered good enough a second city team.
All states have also given an undertaking to enter all possible age groups, giving teams the experience of playing against a wide number of teams.
This nationals promises to be our biggest ever with more overseas entries and a women’s team being selected for the Women’s World Cup in November and a men’s team for the World Games in August. All junior female national teams selected at this years nationals will be also going to the Women’s World Cup to takepart in junior tournaments as part of the main tournament.

Vikings are now calling themselves ‘Australian Futsal Association’ – which gives the false impression they are the governing futsal body in Australia. Why the name change from Vikings?
You are still Vikings, right?

Looks like there is still much confusion out there about the 2 governing bodies and who is doing what. Hopefully Vikings will publish a similar piece when the Futsalroos get TV coverage next month clarifying that it is NOT the Vikings mens team.

The timing of the article is funny but your post is hilarious Simon.
