Radio personalities, firefighters, musicians and soccer players will be kicking goals for charity at the annual FAIR PLAY! futsal competition at Victoria Park.
Melbourne Victory players will deliver a junior football clinic and there will be live music, entertainment and food stalls throughout the day-long tournament.
Event organisers, the Happy Football Cambodia Australia group, are hoping the competition will eventually rival Reclink’s Community Cup, which attracts up to 20,000 people to its annual charity Aussie rules match.
It will be the biggest of 10 FAIR PLAY! events, with 32 teams competing.
Money raised will be used to help take the “beautiful game” to disadvantaged youngsters in Cambodia and Melbourne.
FAIR PLAY!, 11am-7pm, Saturday, October 27, at Victoria Park oval, corner Abbot and Lulie sts, Abbotsford. Entry is free.
