FOz Cup first round of the Futsal Oz V-League
The opening round of the FOz cup saw big crowds, plenty of goals and great futsal action. Nike V-League premiers Pascoe Vale progressed to the next round as did their fierce rivals Vic Vipers FC, FC Balwyn and Hume FC all advance to the next round with good victories.
Pascoe Vale FC to strong for gallant FC Essendon
A Clinical Pascoe Vale FC got off to the perfect start in the FOz Cup with victory over FC Essendon. In a tight first half Essendon took and early lead only for Pascoe Vale to respond with two quick goals. Essendon drew level with two minutes left in the half, however Pascoe Vale went into the break with the lead with a late strike to give them the lead. In the second half Pascoe Vale were to strong for FC Essendon as their superior fitness and clinical finishing was the difference as it finished 8–6 in a high scoring affair.

Vic Vipers FC earn the points the hard way verse FC Prahran
In a game where both team could have easily walk away with victory it was the big match experience of Vic Vipers that proved to be the difference in this one. The first half was an even affair with both teams unable to put the ball in the back of the net as both keepers were producing top class saves. With the scores locked 0-0 at half time it looked like the odd goal could be enough for victory and it proved that way. Jonathan Barrientos opened the scoring for Vic Vipers only for Prahan veteran Ivan Zelic to draw the teams level. Vipers took the lead midway through second half when Jusuf Advic scored from a well worked corner and with 30seconds remaining a cheeky Adam Cooper chip sealed the victory for the Vipers as they won it 3-1 to advance to the next round.

FC Balwyn ease there way past Ashburton
This was a game that Ashburton was always going to struggle in as manager Maurice Cristiano failed to qualify enough players for the FOz cup and was forced to take a three goal penalty before kick off. Ashburton were also missing the influential Sofiane Soufi and Balwyn to full advantage racing to a 6-2 half time lead. The second half had a mini fight back for Ashburton but it was to little too late and the match finished 9-5 to FC Balwyn

Hume FC come from behind and takes victory in extra time over Metro
This was a game that Metropolitan FC will be regretting for some time. Metropolitan got off to a flying start and raced to a 3-0 lead with two sublime finishes from Alexander Stevanovic and a Dino Redzepovic tap-in looked to have Metropolitan in control. The first half finished 4-1 to Metropolitan but Hume had a number of chances but was unable to convert. The second half Hume took the game away from Metropolitan and scored three unanswered goals to force the game into extra time. The extra time period was all about Vadim Mazursky from Hume as he scored three goals in the extra time to take the game away from a self destructing Metropolitan and the ran out victors 8-4 to advance to the next round.
