Four young Illawarra futsal players will leave this week to represent Australia on a tour to Barcelona, where they will take on some of Europe’s best players.

Joshua Young (Illawarra Sports High), Jayden Johnson (Lake South High School), Riley Beggs (Albion Park High) and Bailey Angeloski (Warilla High) will leave for Spain on Friday.

A fifth Illawarra boy, Jak Wilson from Warilla High, was selected but is not touring with the Australian team.

All five boys were part of the NSW under 14s team which competed at the Australian Futsal titles at Windsor, near Penrith, last January.

The tournament was a selection trial for the Australia team with the Illawarra boys among the outstanding players.

The Australian under 14s will be away for 19 days, play five games in and around Barcelona, and attend a pro Futsal Match, a La Liga Match and a FCB coaching session.

Futsal is a form of football using a smaller pitch and ball, with teams of five players.
