Tuesday Knight Fever V Malade FC at Magill, 23 Oct 2012

As the competition nears its halfway mark MALADE FC has played some great FUTSAL especially being new to a tough competition

The toughest competition, where serious Futsal ‘heads’ want to play

MALADE FC started with wins with impressive play and a hard hit approach, however the last 2 weeks has seen them produce a good brand of two- touch FUTSAL

Similar to our Champion sides of OUTLAWS, FIDELIS FINANCIALS and CONG FC and I can’t forget the never say die effort of TUESDAY KNIGHT FEVER, these sides are a credit to the way the game is played

This game was special, a great crowd, positive and parochial, the TUESDAY KNIGHT FEVER took a 3-1 lead with 2 great goals, one from Ben Mauro and the other from Callean Somerville.

To MALADE FC credit they played smart not rushing or roughing it up, just quick control and quick release of the ball

TUESDAY KNIGHT FEVER took a 4-2 lead

However within seconds, Peter Colandro scored a real forwards goal

He received the ball quickly and with the defence of TUESDAY KNIGHT FEVER in shape, Peter turned on a 5 cent piece on a tight angle to put the ball in the net

GAME ON!

Now 4 -3, TUESDAY KNIGHT FEVER, could smell the turning point. Within 3 minutes almost, I said almost the best goal I’ve ever seen in FUTSAL in 15 years was scored by another Colandro, Adam

The ball was released by the keeper quickly but unfortunately to the wrong side of Adam Colandros’ body positioning. It was then a piece of Futsal/football magic happened

Adam Colandro raised his rear right leg as though he was from BRAZIL, and put the ‘touch of an angel’ over the keepers head to even the score

All were stunned and elated, and TUESDAY KNIGHT FEVER were in bother. But to their credit they replied with 1 minute left
