Elizabeth Sarcevic is gearing up for her third successive Australian championship
The talented Geelong goal keeper has been selected for the Victorian team that will play in the 34th FFA Futsal National Championships in Canberra next year.
Elizabeth, 15, was the only Geelong player to win a place in the state team, beating five goal keepers after trials with the under-16 squad.
She was part of the under-14 team that clinched the national title earlier this year and was named player of the final.
The Sacred Heart College student is in a rich vein of form, having performed strongly in the Melbourne Futsal League
Elizabeth won the MVP for the Bayside Pirates and was Player of Players, awarded to the best player in the club.
The stopper was also part of Altona City’s women’s reserve soccer team in the state division one league.
“This girl will play for Australia one day,” Elizabeth’s mum Diana said.
“She aspires to be a goal keeper in futsal or soccer for Australia or play in Europe in the future.”
The national championships are in Canberra January 7-10 and the final will be played at Australian Institute of Sport.
