The ASB Futsal National League continues with series two at ASB Stadium in Auckland this weekend.
The host federation currently leads the league, tied on points with South but ahead on goal difference. The defending champions lost their opening match of the season, their first in 14 matches but recovered to lead a third of the way through the three series competition.
The league is played over three weekend series spread throughout the summer of 2012/13. Series one was played at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin in December and the final round is in Wellington at the ASB Sports Centre in March.
South share the lead with Auckland off the back of a strong individual performance from Carlos Hermann. The big Brazilian target scored eight goals across the series.
The big improvers were Northern who are the only unbeaten side left in the eight team competition after recording two wins and three draws in their five matches.
For the first time all seven of New Zealand Football federations have entered teams, including two from Central Football, reflecting the greater role of federations in running the FIFA-endorsed version of indoor football in their regions.
The ASB Futsal National League gets underway at 11am on Saturday, February 9 and again at 8am on Sunday, February 10, entry to ASB Stadium in Kohimarama is free.
