Attendance was good and the quality of Futsal was exceptional in what was an enjoyable day for all of the youngsters who turned out to watch.

Ballarat’s newly formed Ballarat FC Men and Youth squads fared well with 3rdand 4th place finishes respectably and were competitive throughout the day.

“I was really pleased with the progress that the Ballarat sides made throughout the day and it was a real eye opener for us in the first tournament, with 14 players across the two teams still under the age of 20 the future islooking very bright in this region”.

“Hopefully the tournament will promote the opportunities that there areout there for juniors through AFA and attract further junior players to the centre for our weekly competitions, we start our junior season this Friday and Saturday and still have vacancies for new entries so we are hopeful the boost of hosting such quality sides here will help our push locally for participation in the sport.”

Melbourne team Cafuringa which was made up of the majority of the Vic VipersV-League side were crowned champions after going through the day undefeated. They won the Final 3-1 against a very classy Ashburton side which had members of the AFA Victorian men’s squad on show. The long day took it’s toll though late in the game on the Ashburton team as they only had a small squad.
