Anthony Cutler took to the sport of futsal straight away.
The 13-year-old Toolooa SHS student represented Australia in Vikings Futsal just before school ended last year.
“I was selected after going to nationals at the start of the year,” he said.
“I knew a couple of people in my Australian team before I got picked.
“We trained once a week in Rockhampton.”
Anthony started playing futsal when he was nine – the age he was first selected to represent Central Queensland for the sport.
Of the sport he said: “It’s quick, it’s fun and a bit challenging sometimes.”
The young athlete’s skills transfer over to outdoor soccer and he plays locally for Clinton FC.
He said he hopes to play futsal for Queensland once again this year.
