El Diva 8 defeated Cool Runnings 2
With these two teams being the dominant teams in the competition this season it was only fitting to see them face off in the Grand Final. El Diva had their undefeated and back-to-back championships reputation to uphold coming into the match, but Cool Runnings were eager to finally defeat the top team. With some quick touches by both teams at the opening of the game, it only took two minutes before El Diva scored the first goal of the game. This set the tempo of the match with El Diva pushing their defense up court, keeping the ball in their attacking half. Cool Runnings had limited opportunities to score as El Diva were determined to go into the break with a strong lead and not concede any goals. After trailing 0-5 in the first half, Cool Runnings were still unable to get a successful shot on goal with El Diva keeper stating her mark by scoring her second goal early in the second. With 8mins to play, Cool Runnings decided to kick into gear and found luck scoring their first goal of the match. Despite a desperate goal in the final minute by Cool Runnings, it was not enough to fight back and El Diva’s experience, skill and team work overpowered with an 8-2 win.

Setting up the successful corner shot, Wolves FC took another quick run at goals taking the lead by 2. Juan Direction had their opportunities with penalty shots but were unable to bite back at the lead trailing 1-4 at the break. The roles reversed with Juan Direction scoring within the first 30 seconds of the second half and Wolves answering with another two goals. Thanks For Coming 9 defeated Multiple Scoregasms 2
Multiple Scoregasms were the only undefeated team in the competition this season and had plenty of confidence coming into the game. With both Semi Final matches last week coming down to the wire with a one point win, and the last time these two teams faced off was another one point game, we were sure to be in for a contest. It was a heated game from the kick-off and took some time before the first goal was scored by Thanks For Coming, however it wasn’t long before they scored their second going into the break with a 2-0 lead. Thanks For Coming powered out in the opening of the second half with another successful shot at goal but Multiple Scoregasms were quick to answer determined to not let them get away with the game. Despite some desperate attempts, Thanks For Coming stamped their mark on the match scoring goal after goal to take a 9-1 lead. Even though Multiple Scoregasms had no substitutes until the second half, they came back to get one final goal in the last few seconds, unfortunately going down 9-2.
