During 2012 AFA was excited to announce that The World Futsal Association (AMF) had selected the Colombian Futsal Federation, headed by Manuel Sanchez, to host the second Women’s World Cup. The event will be held from November 7th to 16th this year in a brand new 7,000-seat stadium. This month after a very competitive period of trials the AFA women’s squad was narrowed down and the touring party was announced.

Amidst three strenuous training camps the team will play highly anticipated international trial games and take part in a grueling pre-cup training camp in the USA. Coaches Mike Bushe and Jo Kopp are preparing the team in hopes of improving Australia’s performance from the last world cup where Australia worked hard to make it to the quarterfinals.

In addition to hard working coaches the team will be supported by manager Cathy Sweeney, Physio Aliese Hoffman and head of delegation Nicola Zammit. A number of fundraisers will be held during the year to raise money. If you would like to support the Australian Women’s Team please contact Nicola Zammit at nicola@australianfutsal.com
