FOz: Andre, Firstly congratulations on winning the 2012/13 Nike V-League championships.

AC: Thank you very much. It was a long season and I, and Pascoe Vale FC are very thrilled to be able to come through it as champions.

FOz: What are you most looking forward to about the FAFL Cup?

AC: I am very much looking forward to competing and playing against some of the best players in Australia in a very well-organised and exciting competition filled with flare, intensity and passion for the game of futsal.

Furthermore, it is always a great honor to be able to play in front of your friends and family, representing not only Pascoe Vale FC, but the state as well, showcasing some of the best futsal that Australia has to offer.

FOz: As defending champions do you think there is any extra pressure on the team?

AC: It is always a challenge to come back into a competition where you were crowned champions the first time around, as there are high expectations to fulfill. However, I am very confident in Pascoe Vale FC’s ability to cope with this pressure, and I strongly believe that we will be, yet again, a team to watch out for in this forthcoming FAFL cup.

FOz: For the supporters outside of Victoria, can you tell us about Pascoe Vale FC. How did it start and it history?

AC: Pascoe Vale FC was established in 2005, long before I even reached Australian shores, therefore, I am unable to account for any time before my arrival into the squad in 2010. However, I can elaborate how the team has progressed in the time that I have been fortunate enough to play with them.

FOz: You have already announced that Brazilian duo Lucas Kruel and keeper Lorenzo De Paris will be joining the squad, how important was it to recruit these two players?

AC: There are really no words to fully describe the momentous contribution that these two players will add to Pascoe Vale FC. Let’s just say that IT’S BIG, and you will all have to wait until our first game when these players put on their Pascoe Vale uniforms and show their worth.

FOz: Who do you think will be the team to beat the 2013 WFAFL Cup?

AC: I am certain that there will be no easy games at this FAFL cup. I believe that Parramatta will be stronger this year with the addition of Daniel Fulton, NSW Futsal Premier League and FFA Nationals MVP. The Victorian teams Hume, Vic Vipers and Victoria Country also look very strong. I am also quite certain that Western Australia will come back this year even more determined, after finishing runners up in the last FAFL cup final.

There are rumors that Adelaide Fusion have been recruiting some interstate players so they could be quite unexpected. Last but not least Sydney Magic, the NSW Futsal Premier League runners up will be bringing down some talented players from the Futsalroos who recently competed in the FIFA World Cup in Thailand last year. So really, this tournament could be anyone’s game and should have everything that is Futsal.

FOz: Who is a player in your squad that the Victorian public should keep an eye on during the FAFL cup?

AC: We all have our moments of absolute brilliance and each player really states his own case to be a part of Pascoe Vale FC. In our team, I believe that the whole is bigger than any one of its parts, we complement each other. We are a very international team and multi-cultural team and I could not possibly distinguish any player above another, as they all have different things to offer.

FOz: Thanks for your time and Good Luck in the 2013 FAFL Cup.

AC: Thank you very much, 100% Futsal !
