AUSTRALIAN TIGER STREET FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
A typically fast-paced day’s action on Saturday saw 32 teams whittled down to just one as the side from Sydney’s north-west ultimately claimed the glory with a hard-fought 6-5 extra time win over Red Dragons yesterday evening.
The boys from Sydney’s north-west being none other than the boys from Dural Warriors who played under the team alias of “Team Gaganiani” . The win is just another trophy to add to their already impressive collection over the past 18 months.
Team Gaganiani will join Anachak Baitong who won March’s initial leg of the Tiger Street Football in Cambodia, ahead of five further events for 2013 in Mongolia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and China and the ensuing final.
The boys not only claimed bragging rights but also won a nice cool $5000 and an all expenses paid team trip to the final competition in China later this year.
The competition also saw players from other futsal clubs such as Bayside Pirates Futsal Club, Inner West Magic, Enfield Rovers Futsal Club and Futsal Whites – New Zealand National Futsal Team just to name a few.
