Brisbane South 9 North Brisbane 3
Despite a very strong start in round one the North Brisbane team lost their first round 9-3 to South Brisbane. Early in the game North Brisbane players William Sowby and Josh Wilson worked well together weaving fast and hard passes around the South Brisbane defence but after a few too many missed opportunities on North Brisbane’s part South Brisbane picked up the pace and scored 3 very quick goals. South Brisbane player Kyle Bell blitzed the North Brisbane defence to score a beautiful goal in the bottom left corner shortly after that Liam Rogl made a quick run up the sideline before chipping North Brisbane keeper Patrick Millard and gently placing the ball in the back of the net. However, North Brisbane was not giving up Mallard made some beautiful saves while Finn Tierny and Christopher Banning pulled out all the tricks in the play book to take some beautiful shots, one of which resulted in Banning scoring a beautiful goal against South Brisbane keeper Aiden Collins.
West Moreton 5 Pine Rivers 2
West Moreton dominated play in a five to two victory against Pine Rivers. With a 2-1 lead at half time the West Moreton boys came out hard at the start of the second half looking to increase their lead. It didn’t take long before West Moreton players Jacob Bettes and Joshua Brewis-Foulger had fought their way through the Pine Rivers defence. Bettes and Brewis-Foulger both took shots but to the crowds shock both hit the post before the team got “third time lucky” with a brilliant strike from Alex Brewis-Foulger who was quick to put the ball in the goal. The Pine Rivers players Emilo Smith and Brendan Gould refused to give up using a combination of speed and fancy footwork to set up countless opportunities to score however experienced West Moreton goal keeper Declan Wenzell-Hall proved too tough to score against.

West Moreton 7 Pine Rivers 1
At the end of the first half West Moreton were beating Pine Rivers by three goals. West Moreton Players Jordan Davie and Emilio Bran both scored. However at the start of the second half Pine Rivers player Lachlan Burnett was fired up and had his eye on the goal. It wasn’t long before Burnett charged through West Moreton’s defence to score. However, West Moreton players Caleb Magee and Daniel Clark hit back scoring four more goals before the end of the game.
Brisbane South 4 North Brisbane 1
Brisbane South dominated play when they beat North Brisbane 4 goals to 1. At half time it was still anyone’s games with West Moreton only leading by two goals. Things were looking positive when North Brisbane’s Matt Stark scored an early goal but the game quickly turned in Brisbane South’s favor when their players scored two more goals finishing the game with a 4 to 1 win.

North Brisbane 1 Brisbane South 0
In the closest match of the day North Brisbane defeated rivals Brisbane South 1-0. The first half finished with no goals and it seemed the teams were evenly matched. Both keepers Harrison Griffin and Jarrod Wilson stood out, fighting hard to keep their teams in the game. However it wasn’t long before North Brisbane’s Lachlan Evans scored the only goal of the game securing North Brisbane’s victory over Brisbane South.
West Moreton 12 Pine Rivers 3
Pine Rivers had a tough first game coming up against West Moreton. Whilst West Moreton is a stand out favourite at this stage Pine Rivers efforts to score against the veteran team have gotten spectators attention. Pine Rivers will undoubtedly be the competitions underdogs with players such as Finn Breakhurst and Billy Mcintosh hoping to lead their team to the top four.
