quake1The Football NSW Futsal State Championships were held on Saturday and Sunday.  Overall the Club performed well with 3 teams making it at least to the Semi Finals and others performing very credibly.

But it was the 12 Boys who shone the brightest winning every game they played on their way to being crowned 2013 Champions.  A brilliant effort by the squad.  The boys played some very good futsal and were in charge of every game they played.

Congratulations go to our 14 Boys who also went undefeated until running up against a very good Rovers team in the Final.  These lads far exceeded expectations by making the Final.  Their level of play and commitment has raised the bar now.

Our Women were desperately unlucky to miss the Final losing their Semi on penalties after cruising through the tournament.

We should mention the 14 Girls who played brilliantly but failed to progress out of the group because of goal difference with 3 teams finishing on 2 wins and 1 loss.  Their last minute win against perennial favourites Vipers in the last pool match will stay long in the memory.  And the 12 Girls only had the 1 loss but that was enough for them to go out on goal difference.  The Academy team aquitted themselves well by winning 4 of their 5 games.

State Championships are always a good hit out for our players and stands them in good stead for the Premier League.

Once again, very well done our 12 Boys on becoming State Champions!
