Michael Sannum and Carlos Herrman guided Futsal South to an unbeaten round of the national series in Auckland at the weekend.
Futsal South won three and drew two of its games, and is second on the standings with 11 points, just behind defending champion Auckland (13).
One of the southern side’s best performances was in its final game on Sunday when it thumped Central Hawkes Bay 5-2, Sannum nabbing a hat trick.
On Saturday, Herrman showed off his abilities, scoring four goals across two games, a 7-3 win over Central Manawatu and a 5-2 win over Mainland.
If Herrman was not applying the finishing touch to Futsal South’s work, he was instrumental in the build-up to several goals and, with Manawatu threatening a comeback, he re-entered the game to put the result to bed.
Futsal South, which had opened the round with a draw with Auckland, ended its long Saturday with a 3-3 draw with Capital.
The national series continues in Wellington on November 15-17, and finishes in Napier in late November.
