Australian No.1 Curtis Maher will be out to retain his Oceania Freestyle Football Championship in Melbourne on November 24, but will face stiff competition from New Zealand Champion Olly Bowman plus a host of young & hungry Melbourne freestylers where you have to come and witness Freestyle Football’s Best Live!

This will be the 2nd staging of the OFFC which is a 2 star F3 (Freestyle Football Federation) World Ranking Series Event with the winner most likely with the 250 points they receive, earning themselves a spot on the sports 2014 F3 World Tour. Queensland Maher currently holds one of those 16 places at the moment and is desperate to retain that spot by claiming victory down in Melbourne, but knows it will be tough “It goes without saying that the Oceania Freestyle Football Championship is an amazing opportunity for all freestylers in the region. The Freestyle Football Federation does an amazing job of spreading opportunities and awareness to all parts of the globe. After taking out the title last year and earning a spot on the 2013 F3 World Tour I’m even more determined to take it out again this year. My training has certainly been kicked up a notch now that the competition is only one month away”

Event Organisers are the not for profit organisation Oceania Freestyle Football Federation (OF3) & President Paul Harvey is delighted at the progress the young sport is making “More & more people are starting to practise Freestyle Football now & Melbourne is the hotbed for the sport. We have some great young talent coming through the ranks who may not be challenging for the title this year, but they may cause a few upsets and we want as many Melburnians to come down and support all the Australian’s in their battle against the Kiwi’s to be crowned Oceania No.1”

The event will be held on Sunday November 24 at the Queensbridge Square Amphitheatre on Melbourne’s Southgate Precinct, and this area is proving to be the home of Freestyle Football in Melbourne after staging the Australian Titles earlier on this year and with the Trick Star Show Team’s Training base the other side of the river and the end of Sandbridge Rail Bridge. The action starts at Noon with the 90 second routines which then determine the head to head battles which will start at 1pm. With Freestyle Football’s best live & free it is a must watch for any football fan.
