Futsal has become a big part of life for Arlo Hook – and it’s going to become a lot bigger very soon.

The 16-year-old will travel to Brazil later this year to show his skills as part of a FNC NSW Futsal scheme.

Kyogle-based Arlo hopes the trip, which will see him spend about three months playing alongside talented futsal players from the south American country, could be the launch to a possible pro career in the sport.

The Kyogle High School student has been practising about three hours a day to ensure he is in peak condition for the program.

“It’s pretty much my life,” he said with a smile. “I don’t do much else.

“I’m really excited. I cannot wait.”

Year 11 student Arlo started playing the fast-paced indoor soccer sport about six years ago after being introduced by a friend.
