Unfortunately, the U/16 Boys game was decided on penalties after drawing 2-2 at the end of full time and 3-3 at the end of Extra Time. Luke Babic had an outstanding game saving a number of 6th foul shots and penalties to keep his side in the game. The Women’s side also went down in extra time after clawing back a 3-3 draw in the dying minutes with Enfield Rovers. The final score was 5-3. but the women never stopped fighting.

U/12 Boys:
Preliminary Final Score – 2-1 win over Inner West Magic.

Grand Final: Mountain Majik VS Campbelltown Quake. 10:00am @ Dural Sports and Leisure Centre.

The young men from Mountain Majik showed they meant business in their Preliminary Final, holding Inner West Magic scoreless until a sixth foul kick in the last minute of the game. Some Andrew Holder brilliance from a free kick in the 14th minute gave the Majik side the momentum they needed. A minute into the second half allowed Adam Farkas to place his name on the score sheet and give Majik a 2-0 lead. The boys stayed in control of the game and deserved the 2-1 win, cementing their place in Mountain Majik history as the first ever male team to make the Premier League Grand Final.

The Majik side now come up against a quality Campbelltown Quake side who are coming off a weeks break. The Mountain Majik boys are showing their team cohesion and playing consistently over the past weeks will only benefit them. The sides have shared the points in previous battles with both teams having a 3-1 victory (Round 1 – Majik def. Quake 3-1, Round 8 – Quake def. Majik 3-1). The Majik men have come a long way since Round 8 and are sure to be out to prove they should be crowed Champions this weekend.

U/12 Girls:

Preliminary Final Score – 2-0 win over Dural Warriors.

Grand Final: Mountain Majik vs. Inner West Magic. 11:00am @ Dural Sports and Leisure Centre.

The Mountain Majik girls grabbed a 2-0 win in their Preliminary Final to knock out their rivals, Dural Warriors, who were last years Champions. A great ball down the line from Tiana Barton to Emily Dorahy in the 3rd minute led to a top left corner goal from Emily Dorahy to put the girls in front. The girls continued to play impressive Futsal in the first half and held out Dural Warriors. In the 28th minute, Monique Holder played an impressive ball across the face of the goal for Angelina Parkes to latch onto and place perfectly into the back of the net, making it 2-0 for the Majik side. The Majik girls continued to move the ball, limiting the opportunity for any Dural shots on goal. With only 2 girls remaining in the squad from last years Super League Grand Final win, the girls endeavour to make it the first female Premier League Grand Final win.

Majik will meet Inner West Magic for the second time in the finals series. Having played IW Magic three times this season, the Majik girls will look to finish their season on a high with a win over the “other”  Majik to claim the Championship. Inner West Magic have narrowly beat Mountain Majik on two occasions (Round 5 – IW Magic def. Majik 3-2, Semi Final – IW Magic def. Majik 3-1), whilst Mountain Majik came from behind to beat them in Round 12 (Majik 6 – 4 IW Magic). It will be a tough game, but if the Majik girls stay focused until the final whistle, they can claim the Championship to make Mountain Majik history.

U/14 Girls:

Semi Final Score – 3-1 win over Dural Warriors.

Grand Final: Mountain Majik vs. Inner West Magic. 1:00pm @ Dural Sport and Leisure Centre

With the Mountain Majik girls progressing straight into the Grand Final after a convincing 3-1 win over Dural Warriors, they are ready to beat the powerhouse Inner West Magic side. Goals to Olivia Hardaker and Kathleen Butler will put confidence among the side, with all players being regular goal scorers.

It will be a tough encounter between the two Majik sides, with both sides sharing the points in previous encounters (Round 5 – Majik def. IW Magic 3-1, Round 12 – IW Magic def. Majik 6-4). The Majik girls all know how to finish a shot and will aim to be first on the score sheet to put the “other” Majik side under pressure. A win from the girls will secure the double – Minor Premiership and Championship.

Mountain Majik would like to wish their 3 teams the best of luck this weekend in their respective Grand Finals. Play hard, Play fair.

We hope to see as many Majik supporters in the stands as possible for all three games – wearing their bright green gear of course!
