The Australian futsal world has been saddened to hear that Wendy Thomas passed away after a long illness.
On behalf of the Australian futsal community, we would like to pay tribute to Wendy and her legacy for futsal in Australia.
Wendy was involved in the game at all levels for many decades. In early 2013 at the Football NSW Futsal Gala Dinner she and Dawn Gilligan (the woman that introduced Australia to futsal in 1971 at Revesby YMCA, Sydney) were inducted as Life Members.
Wendy’s passion for the game will be truly missed. May her legacy for the honest drive and promotion of futsal remain strong in the years to come.
Futsal in Australia would like to pass its deepest condolences to the Thomas family.
