The inclusion of the Capital FC teams is an important step for the development of futsal in Canberra with the strategic pathway provided giving additional players within the program a target of playing at the highest level and helping to improve their skills in the process.

“We are delighted to be able to enter teams in both the men’s and women’s F-League for 2014 and thank Football NSW for accepting our nomination,” Capital Football CEO Heather Reid commented. “This is an important step in the expansion of our Futsal development and we are committed to providing the best possible pathway for Futsal players in Canberra.”

Capital FC will line-up alongside fellow Canberra representative team Boomerangs FS in the competition and Reid was quick to praise the efforts of the Boomerangs set-up.

“Our participation in the F-League will complement what the Boomerangs have achieved as a trail blazing club and that we’ll provide another avenue for the development of Futsal players through to national league participation,” Reid said.

Full details on the draw and venues for the 2014 Futsal F-League will be announced shortly.
