Cowra High’s futsal teams qualify for NSW finals

Both the Under 16 and Open Age futsal (indoor soccer) teams from Cowra High School have qualified for the New South Wales finals.

The teams became Western Area champions after playing in the qualifying tournament in Bathurst last week.

The Open Age team played six games, winning five and losing one.

It won the final of the tournament by defeating Orange High School 2-0 in a closely fought match.

The goals came from Bede Leyland and Brad Napoli.

Bede Leyland was the top scorer for the day, netting 10 goals over the six matches.

The Under 16s played five games and won them all, beating Oberon High School 2-1 in the final.

Gidail Bakini scored both goals for Cowra.
