Sadhai DCA Win Fiji Sun Masters


The Peniasi Saukuru-captained Sadhai DCA side upset Lautoka All Stars 3-2 in the penalty shootout in the inaugural Fiji Sun Masters Futsal at the Nadi Muslim College grounds yesterday.

This was after both teams were tied 1-1 at fulltime. Former Nadi and Rewa striker Saukuru scored the first goal and Joseva Tabusau equalised five minutes later.

The other goals came from Vikesh Prasad and Sharif Khan beating Lautoka All Stars goalkeeper Arun Kumar.

Sadhai goalkeeper Rasheed Ali saved two goals while Mark Rokobuli scored for All Stars.

All Stars featured former Lautoka Blues, Bakalevu Moceimereke, Maika Waqa, Rokobuli, Tabusau and Futsal rep Rineshwar Lal.

Sadhai won $500 with a trophy with All Stars settling for $250 with trophy.

Sadhai DCA team manager/player Afzal Khan said it was a good outing.

“It was a good match playing All Stars with former district reps,” he said.

All Stars captain Rokobuli was gracious in defeat.

“Overall we enjoyed the competition as this keeps us going.”

In the semi-final, All Stars beat F Bread Master (Nadi) 2-0 on penalty kicks after both teams locked scoreless at fulltime.
