3 local Cairns Female Futsal players Natalie Anne Castro, Danielle Reed and Stacey Jones named in the Australian Women’s National Futsal team traveling to Barcelona this year to compete in the AMF Women’s Futsal World Cup.

In fact, there were 4 local players from FNQ that impressed the selectors with Michelle Brett, Natalie, Danielle and Stacey all playing extremely well in both the Cairns International Futsal Challenge that was held last year and the more resent FAF National Futsal Championships that was held in Adelaide.

All 4 girls were named in the top 18 that travelled to Adelaide earlier this month for a final trial, Natalie was named as one of the Goalkeepers with Danielle and Stacey also named in the final 12 to travel to Barcelona this year, Michelle was named as a Shadow and may still have an opportunity to go if someone pulls out.

This is fantastic news For Futsal in the Far North as we continue to Develop players and offer them pathways into representing their Country.

Last year Redlynch Central Sports Stadium together with Futsal FNQ made the crucial decision to join Federation of Australian Futsal as they offered players of all ages more opportunities and pathways. This move has proven vital as we have already had Jack Goodwin and Ciaran Church represent Australia in the U/17 World Cup last year in Paraguay and now these 3 Women also going to represent Australia in a World Cup.

Redlynch Central Sports offers great programs and opportunities for local players from their Kindy Futsal program for 3 to 5 year old right through to their Cairns United Futsal Academy and Club, Regional and State Representation with tournaments held all around Australia each year.

So if you wish to give your son or daughter the best opportunity to follow their dreams and one day play for their Country, come see the friendly staff at Redlynch Central Sports Stadium and ask them about their fantastic Development programs they Run!

Redlynch Central Sports Stadium as well as Futsal FNQ would like to congratulate the 3 Girls and wish the Australian team the very best of luck in the World Cup that will be held in Barcelona from the 16th to the 28th of November.
