He is known as ‘The Bull’ by his European futsal counterparts – and he is set to bash and crash his way through his Series Futsal Australia rivals in two weeks time.

Elliot Ragomo, captain of the Solomon Islands national futsal team, will suit up for Prospect FC in the 2017 Series Futsal Australia tournament.

Ragomo, 26, is a very experienced futsal player having contested the past three consecutive Futsal World Cups. He has scored five goals in 10 appearances in the Futsal World Cup.

Ragomo also has won the Oceania Football Confederation Futsal Championships three times, playing professionally for Club de Fútbol Sala Bisontes Castellón from Spain.

The signing of Ragomo for Prospect is just one of a number of a number of star players set to line-up for the South Australian club.

Other players to look out for include former Cambio Cumbre players Ahmad Rahimi and captain Samim Rohani, Mohammad Nazari (former West Lakes FC player), plus Adam Stacey and Brett Forward.

Captain Rohani, who was a part of Cambrio Cumbre’s three-straight Series Futsal Australia titles, says that his recent take over of Prospect has presented him a new challenge.

“Late last year, I was approached by Prospect Futsal Club and asked to take over, build the club and make them one of the best futsal clubs in Australia,” he told SeriesFutsal.com.

“It was heartbreaking as it meant I had to leave my team-mates at Cambio Cumbre for this SFA campaign but I am excited to take on the new challenge of being the coach/player for the club.”

While Rohani has been building a strong team for SFA, so has his former club Claremont Cambio Cumbre. The West Australian team recently announced that the services of Futsalroo Dean Lockhart, Brazilian star Vinicius Leite and Cumbre stalwarts Salman Alhammadi and Abdullah AlMesbahi.

The Cambio Cumbre team also hinted that Japanese star Yoshihiro Sakuragi could make an appearance too!

The 2017 Series Futsal Australia tournament will be held for both men and women in Melbourne from March 17-19.

The men’s games will be played at the Thomastown Futsal Oz Stadium, while all of Friday and Saturday’s women’s games will be held at the Arnold Classic multi-sport event at the Melbourne Convention Centre.
