The final three Videos we have available for the Mens nationals are now shown below.

The first one is NSW Thunder vs Queensland from Round 8 (8-0 win for NSW Thunder).
The second is NSW Lightning vs Southern NSW from Round 8 (2-1 win for Lightning).
The final one is ACT Cobras vs ACT Colts from Round 9 (3-3 Draw).

Please note for some of the matches we were unable to obtain complete footage, but there is still plenty of good action to absorb in there.

After some intense debate during 2008 regarding if Football Queensland would send Futsal teams to the FFA nationals, they have come to the party. Seven teams from QLD competed in the 30th FFA National Futsal Championships.

Nothing major was expected from the teams with only a limited number of regions being available for selection. “Forgive me please! But did someone upset the apple cart” was a statement from one parent. Not only did one of the teams make a final but actually came away with a National Title!! The 13 Boys after running third in the pool games defeated ACT Cobras 6-4 in a thrilling encounter to set up a final againstthat from the pool games seemed all one way traffic! The boys changed the structure of their defensive game and tightened up on the disciplined Victorian outfit. The counter attack became vital for punishing mistakes and with only 2 minutes remaining Jayden Liddicoat launched himself over the defense to head home the winner.

It was not only a fantastic win for the team but an opportuinty to let others know throughout the country that FQ will be committed to developing quality teams to compete at nationals.

Some may say that Doris Osman was born to play soccer that it’s in the family genes.

Her father Erkin represented Australia in indoor soccer from 1983-94, including four world cup appearances.

In a sport predominantly played with the feet, it isn’t a bad thing for his 14-year-old daughter to be following in his footsteps.

The girl from Bonnyrigg Heights is leaving her own mark on the sport, especially after her golden performance at the recent National Futsal Championships at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

The Cecil Hills High School student left the championships with three major accomplishments to her name. She scored three goals and helped guide the NSW under-14 team to its first ever championship with a convincing 6-0 win over the ACT in the final.

“It was good to win this year because last year we finished second after losing the grand final,” Doris said.

Her brilliant display in the final led to her second accomplishment of the tournament; winning the most valuable player of the final award.

But if you were to measure the potential and ability of this rising star, it would be by her final achievement.

Doris was voted the most valuable player of the championship by opposition coaches, outclassing players from across Australia to win the prestigious award. “I couldn’t believe it when they called my name out as the most valuable player,” Doris said.

“I was shocked but really happy at the same time.”

Despite her love for the indoor version of the game, Doris is hoping to leave her mark on grass in years to come.

The Marconi junior has her sights set on the newly formed W-League and a contract with the sky blue of Sydney FC.
